Old time music (and Tommy Jarrell's playing in particular) grabbed me in my first few months of learning banjo. Jed Greenberg was my first banjo and fiddle teacher. After studying with Jed and violinist Carole Cowan in New Paltz, NY I moved out to Bloomington, IN, where I'm currently taking lessons with Brad Leftwich. I teach old time clawhammer banjo. Beginning and intermediate level students are welcome. Lessons encourage ear training and developing a feel for the banjo within the southeastern old time tradition.
